It was a special honor for Central Division President Dave Petersen to present the Ripple of Hope award to Direct Support Specialist and House Coordinator Wendell Watson, because Wendell works at REM-Lyndale, the home for male offenders where Dave himself worked many years ago. Wendell is known among colleagues for cultivating an environment of warmth and family. “Wendell’s job title cannot begin to describe the role he plays in the lives of the young men who live with him and learn from him,” Dave said. “His spirit—of healing, of forgiveness, of hope—is at the heart of the house these boys call home.”
The 2005 Ripple of Hope Award winners were honored on November 15th, 2005 at the John F. Kennedy Library Museum in Boston, Massachusetts.
