Then it was Bruce Nardella’s turn. “Linda Miller is as deserving a candidate as there is for The Network’s Ripple of Hope award,” he said of the Mentor, who first worked with Ohio MENTOR and now works with REM Ohio. “Linda is proof positive that serving individuals with developmental disabilities in the community means much more than ‘providing services.’” The Eastern Division President expressed awe at Linda’s many community outreach efforts, including her service as a church leader, city councilwoman and swim coach. “I know you feel strongly that this is your calling,” Bruce added, “and I also know that your humility and graciousness prevent you from taking full credit for the impact you’ve had. That is part of why you are so deserving. Please accept this Ripple of Hope Award from all of us at The MENTOR Network.”
The 2005 Ripple of Hope Award winners were honored on November 15th, 2005 at the John F. Kennedy Library Museum in Boston, Massachusetts.
