William Painter, Senior Director of Clinical Practice within The MENTOR Network’s Child and Family Services Center of Excellence, will lead a workshop entitled “Treatment Foster Care and Home-based Treatment to Enable Successful Reunification” at the annual Family Focused Treatment Association (FFTA) Conference. The conference will be held July 8-11, 2018 in Atlanta.
In this interactive workshop, Painter will discuss critical parenting and treatment components needed for a family to successfully reunify after a child’s placement in foster care. He will share practical tools for overcoming typical barriers to reunification, for engaging biological and foster parents in the process, and for guiding the whole family through the transition.
The workshop will address concepts key to the Network’s two clinical models: Family Centered Treatment®, an evidence-based model of in-home family preservation, and Family Vistas®, a trauma-informed model of Therapeutic Foster Care.
Over his 35-year career, William Painter has become known as a pioneer in the field of family preservation services. As one of the developers of Family Centered Treatment, he has provided hundreds of training workshops on family preservation and behavioral health challenges for youth at risk. He is also a board member for the Family Centered Treatment Foundation.
