The MENTOR Network and its partner MENTOR Adult Day Health are pleased to announce that they have expanded their Adult Day Health (ADH) services in Massachusetts with the acquisition of two centers focused on memory care previously operated by the Beth Israel Lahey Health System. Now known as the MENTOR Adult Day Health Spectrum centers, the programs—located in North Andover and Beverly—offer person-centered day services to elders with memory-related diagnoses, including dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Services are specially tailored to the needs of individuals with memory care challenges and include nursing care, recreational activities, nutritional supports and transportation. Together, the two centers serve approximately 60 individuals and employ 30 staff members.
“The addition of these two centers enables MENTOR Adult Day Health to expand our memory care services in Massachusetts, offering a high-quality, cost-effective care option for individuals with memory-related diagnoses in these communities,” said Mike Hofmeister, Senior Vice President of Operations, MENTOR Adult Day Health.
In addition to the programs in North Andover and Beverly, MENTOR Adult Day Health also offers memory care services at its Horizons Center in Brockton, Massachusetts.
Offering an alternative to higher levels of care such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities, MENTOR Adult Day Health’s programs provide a cost efficient and clinically effective option for families and payors, while enabling individuals with memory care, medical and other needs to remain active members of their communities—and avoid or delay the need for institutional care.
“Too often, families of adults with challenges such as dementia are forced to make difficult choices regarding their loved one’s care,” said Michelle Brown, Vice President of Operations for MENTOR Adult Day Health. “Our memory care programs offer families peace of mind that their loved one is safe during the day and supported in a dynamic social environment designed for their unique needs.”
The acquisition of the centers in Beverly and North Andover brings the total number of ADH centers operated by MENTOR Adult Day Health in Massachusetts to 18. The organization also operates centers in Maryland, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Kentucky, serving more than 5,000 elders in a total of 39 centers.
