Resources for Mentors Supporting Adults

Below are resources to help you and the individual in your care during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have any questions or simply need a friendly ear to listen, don’t hesitate to contact your local team member. Network Angels

For any Mentor who has experienced a loss of income due to COVID-19 or a qualifying life event, you may be eligible for support through our Network Angels emergency assistance fund.

Community Supports

  • 211 – connects people with local resources and supports
  • Feeding America – provides nourishing food to individuals and families

Tips

  • Educate the individual in your care on the importance of handwashing and other prevention measures
  • Create a schedule and routine to provide structure, which can be comforting
  • Find ways to support the individual in your care in pursuing the activities and hobbies they love from home
  • Contact your coordinator or local team member to brainstorm creative ways to support the individual in your care

Health and Wellness

During a public health crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic, simple behaviors like eating a balanced diet, exercising, and getting good sleep are crucial for maintaining your physical and mental well-being. But social distancing complicates things. How are you supposed to eat right when you’re living on non-perishables? How can you work out when the gym is closed? How can you sleep when you’re anxious about, well, everything? The MENTOR Network’s wellness guide can help.
